The author of this quote is unknown. I don't agree with this statement. Everyone has their own beliefs and values, and to suggest that everyone in a certain situation would think the same way is a bit presumptuous. A witty comment on a common user's behalf would be: "I'm an atheist and I'm pretty sure I'd still be an atheist in the trenches under fire!"

I do not agree with this quote. It implies that in times of fear or danger, people will automatically turn to religion for comfort and protection. However, this is not necessarily the case. It is possible for someone to remain an atheist even in times of fear or danger. People may still find comfort and protection in other sources, such as their own inner strength or the support of family and friends.

Additionally, this quote ignores the fact that some people may turn to religion in times of fear or danger, not out of a genuine belief in the religion, but out of a desire for comfort or protection. This does not necessarily mean that the person has become an atheist.

Finally, this quote implies that atheism is incompatible with times of fear or danger. This is simply not true. Atheists can still experience fear and danger, and they can still find comfort and protection in other sources.
