The main principles of Buddhism are the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. The Four Noble Truths are that life is suffering, suffering is caused by craving and attachment, there is a way to end suffering, and the way to end suffering is through the Eightfold Path. The Eightfold Path is Right Understanding, Right Thought, Right Speech, Right Action, Right Livelihood, Right Effort, Right Mindfulness, and Right Concentration.

The Buddha is not considered to be a god in Buddhism. He is seen as an enlightened teacher who taught the path to enlightenment. He is seen as a role model to be followed, but not as a deity to be worshipped. The Buddha himself said that he was not a god and that no one should worship him. He is seen as a teacher of the truth and a source of wisdom.
